He has 751 now and at his pace will probably have 765 HR's at the end of the season
If he plays next year, he will hit 32 HR's and end up with 797

He'll finish this year with 757, it'll be difficult to get the next 5, so he won't have anymore than 6 or 7 the rest of the way.

Next year, if he comes back, he'll get maybe 15, so I see him finishing with around 772....

If he finishes at 799, the haters will hate him even more for (a) ending on a memorable number, (b) failing to reach 800, for which they would have hated him more (they hate being denied), and (c) retiring, because without Bonds to kick around they'll have to cast about for a new hating target.

I don't know about home runs, but I think that if he comes back next year he'll break 3,000 hits, which is a much more impressive stat.
