if we were to compare the distance covered by an ant to the distance covered by an average 6 foot man, how fast would an ant be traveling if it were scaled up to human size? I have watched them at work and they can cover some distance in a very short time!

As fast as 10 miles an hour.

I have seen them covering about 5 to 10 times their length and that is a fast speed.

We can't scale up and compare the ant's speed with humans because humans walk erect where as ants walk along their length. So, a comparison is not fair.

cant seem to find average ant speed anwhere...
you might as well go out and measure it yourself...
Then measure that ant's size... and do the maths
