I dont know how anyone could think any different. First off, let's rule out the NFC. The whole conference is horrible, from best to last. Now we'll go through the top contenders in the AFC.
Indy? Let's see, they couldnt stop anyone on defence last year, lost defensive starters in the offseason, and then didnt address any of their problems in the draft. The Colts might not even win their division.
Baltimore? Maybe it's just me, but i'm not afraid of any team that Steve McNair is quarterbacking, no matter how good their defence might be.
Pittsburgh? Another great AFC North QB. Roethlisberger is absolute garbage. If you make him throw it 20 times in a game he'll win it for you.
Cincinati? They'll be too busy making another version of "The Longest Yard" by the time the playoffs come around.
Denver? For some reason they hve the Pat's number, so they worry me a little bit. That being said, it will be Cutler's second year in the league, i think Belichick might be able to come up with a confusing scheme, since that's kinda what he does...
San Diego? LT couldnt have a better year than last year. Now bring in a new coach and a new system to learn, there is no way they will be better or even equal to last year's team. Where did they end up last year? oh yeah, watching the Pat's do Shawn "Call Me Barry" Merriman's "lights out" dance on their field.
Who's left? The Jets maybe? Theyre improving but theyre not a real contender yet. The Jags? nah, they're trying to decide between Leftwich and Culpepper. Either way they arent going anywhere.

Conclusion: if Brady doesnt get hurt then start planning the parade now. In the immortal words of Troy Brown "Bingo! We got bingo! We win again!"

Winning the Superbowl is not what The Patriots want.
The lost last year in the playoffs left a very bad taste in there mouth.
Yes this team has have lost in the playoffs before ( not often ) but why should this lost be different?
Because for the 1st. time since Bill and Brady has been together they did not play Patriot football.
They ran the ball very well in the 1st. half against the Colts. The Pats Running backs had 16 rushes for 88 yards. ( By far the best of all the other teams that played against the Colts in the playoffs ) but for some reason gave up on it. The significance to that is, they were up big at half time by 15 and had no reason to throw the ball.
But not only did they throw but they completely gave up on the run.
In the 2nd. half they had 32 offensive plays but only ran the ball 5 times.
The last thing a team want to do is get into a shoot with the Colts and that's what they did. And because of that they lost.
The dropped passes by Caldwell made The Patriots go out and get not just 1 good receiver but 3.
Brady is 2nd. behind Manning in yards and Touchdowns since Brady began his career. Now that he has " A GREAT BUNCH OF RECEIVERS " imagine the damage that he will do.
Making Samuel there franchise player was great. signing other DB's and drafting a talent at the Safety spot in Meriweather was phenomenal.
Signing Adalius Thomas was huge but get Seau back is the plus....It makes them Deep at the Defensive side of the ball.
After that lost to The Colts it was the 1st. we heard nothing from the team. No interviews, no commercials, nothing. They were hurt. So winning the Superbowl wont be enough.
Some say that The Patriots are not a Dynasty, some will say That Tom Brady should not be spoke of with Joe Montana,
Some will say that Belichick is not 1 of the greatest coaches ever, some will never put ther Defense up with other Superbowl winning teams.
Winning another Superbowl may just quite all the credits. But going " UNDEFEATED " will shut them up for ever.

Ahhhh my Lil friend, you talk like the Pats have it all sewn up already. I think it's best that they play the games anyway and find out.

Randy " I play when I want to " Moss isn't going to be Tom Brady's Savior.

He's a selfish, self absorbed weed smoking mommas boy, and he's on the wrong side of 30, his best days were left behind him in Minnesota. You know, the first Team he brought down with his cancerous attitude. Why do you think they signed him to a one year deal ?

The Pats may win the Supper Bowl but they are far from a sure thing in the Super Bowl.

Good points about NE.. But, there is still 2 teams that will be in it to the end ;
Colts with Payton Manning and the rest of the team..
Chargers with LT and that great defense

Then there is the 3 teams that are going to be tuff also..

Ravens with the best defense in the AFC last year and there RB pick up..
Broncos are always tuff on defense and offense always has a great running game..
Bengals have that explosive offensive...

Then there is the NFC

Saints with there explosive offensive and much improved defense..
Rams have a great offensive team with Bulger and Jackson
Bears can hurt you with there amazing defense..

Then there is the Randy Moss thing.. Which Moss are you going to get.???? The one that was unstoppable like his days in Minnesota.. Or the Raiders Randy Moss that wasn't worth watching and seems like he lost a step... That's the big question...

So, to answer your question.. I think New England has to be a top favorite but, way to early to say its over...

To me if I was going to put on money on it.. I would bet the Saints just because they play in the NFC which is so weak..
The AFC is going to be a blood bath trying to get threw to the super bowl and then winning it....

Good question...

On PAPER, this is the greatest Patriots team fielded. They obviously have the potential in winning another Super Bowl--heck, they were just a play or two short in last year's AFC title game.

Indy lost Rhodes, and Adai's workload will be alot, though Peyton and company probably will pass MORE this year. I see Indy as the highest competitor, with sveral others right behind.

The Patriots have a chance to be special, and 15-1 is not out of the question, especially since they have two 14-2 records in the recent past. They have to be the favorite going in, and you heard it here first:

Patriots--31
Seahawks--21

Ok look, the Patriots are yesterday's news.

Here is how they have performed against Indianapolis in the past 3 meetings:

Indianapolis: 105 points, 1262 yards, 84 1st downs, 4 turnovers, and 6 punts.
New England: 75 points, 956 yards, 58 1st downs, 8 turnovers, and 9 punts.

I don't think Moss, Stallworth, and Thomas will close that gap!

The Pats are a great contender, but there is a reason we play the game. On any ordinary day anybody can walk away with a win. Just because a team is stacked doesn't mean we just give them the trophy. Indy has been stacked for years, but how long did it take them to finally win the big one? Granted the Pats offense is stacked, but you have some key positions on D that need to be reconciled. Case and point, Assante Samuels. Is he, isn't he? So lets see how thing play out on any given Sunday.

I think by acquiring Moss and Stallworth they are placing themselves in a position to win the superbowl. If you recall it was Reche Caldwell's dropped passes that cost them the trip to the Super Bowl.

Uhh, what the hell ru u talking about. The Jets won 1st place in 2002.

The Pats, like every year, have a good chance 2 win the SB, but I don't think that's gonna happen. The luck has run out 4 the Pats. Time 4 a new dynasty.
