I feel like this is a stupid question, but I want to hear what you think...

Do you think that a man WOULD NOT be interested in a woman with a PhD? Or would this be viewed as a good thing?

I should probably rephrase that question...I am just wondering if, in general, men find intelligence to be a turn on or a turn off...

Not a stupid question...it begs for refinement, though. In matters of love, what "most men" are intimidated by is irrelevant. But if the woman has decided on pursuing a PhD in dating, intimidation may be both the means and ends to success.

Highly intelligent++ people, regardless of formal education, will strive toward multiple ends that are COMPLEMENTARY to each other. A perfect example is Goethe, who is a great educator of men on the topic of women. There may be a female writer who accomplishes the same in reverse, but one doesn't immediately come to mind (*light bulb above my head--this will be my next question!*).

Here's my suggestion. You have a great topic to wonder on. Consider that as long as you are respectful of the individual men you might want to date, there's nothing wrong with observing which ones exhibit signs of being intimidated by you. It's up to you to make sure the ends you seek in life complement each other, and that the means, also complementary, are proper to those ends.

++ Note that I didn't use the word successful here.

Depends on the man. If he's secure with himself, your having a PhD won't intimidate him. On the other hand, if he is not secure with himself and his life, he may feel a bit threatened.

Ever wonder men were suppose to club the women and pull them by their long hairs in dragging them back to their caves.
With time somehow the men got club by the women being carried back to the caves?
Ever wonder why the men put on the siissy dress to confuse the women so they don't get carried away?

sometimes it's exhausting to talk to intelligent people. cause they want to be right all the time. they can be pretty defensive, as if every conversation is a reliving of their viva. they have to use logic and reason in every situation.
use your intelligent to be humorous and witty instead. that's what i'm trying to do myself...(not that i have a phd)
