Well, im from Iraq, though im not from one of the main factions, im assyrian, not arab or kurdish, speak aramaic, not arabic, and am christian.
I think it will be very hard for iraq to stay united as one country. Essentially iraq is much like Yugoslavia was, it was cobbled together after WW1 by the allies, it was previously a collection of provinces ruled by the Turks, and never existed as a country prior to 1933.
Like Yugoslavia, once the brutal dominant and evil controlling power was removed, the many differing peoples started to assert themselves, either to gain control of the whole country or their own slice. I think that initially iraq will probably break into 3, Shia Arab south, Sunni centre and Kurdish north. Baghdad will become a total war zone.
After this i think the north may divide further, there are already moves agreed by the iraqi government to provide semi autonomous regions in the north for Assyrian-Chaldean christians, Turcomans, Yezidis and Shabaks, and arabs. In the North, which is the most mixed part of iraq, Assyrian, Arab and Turcoman groups are beginning to arm themselves in an attempt to break away from the Kurds.
Turkey, Iran and Syria will not tolerate an independent kurdish state on their borders, Syria is secular and Baathist, it will not tolerate an islamic state on its borders, Iran would love to see iraq become a totally shia islamic state etc etc, so you can see how iraq will tear itself apart, and also be torn apart by others.
Actually most iraqis supported the invasion of 2003, whats upset us is the stupidity and ignorance dsplayed by the usa afterwards!
Personally i would like iraq to be divided up, that was what was promised to its various peoples after WW1...Sunni Arbs, Shia Arabs, Kurds, Assyrian christians ad Turcomen were all promised independence, they were lied to (apart from the sunnis who were given the whole country despite being a minority!), and Armenians, Shabaks, Yezidis and Mandeans were promised protcted areas....it was all lies, and is the root of the problem today.

There is always blood letting as it is referred to before a country settles down to a more civilised lifestyle, this will ultimately be the case in Iraq at some point in the future.
Consider Britain's past history since the Roman invasion, followed by the Saxons,Vikings and bloodthirsty Normans.
We are still living under the legacy of the worst features of Norman rule.
Look at the complaints on this site at the cost of wars that our government have embarked on, has the attitude of pillage and conquer changed since 1066?

Look into whether the Iraqi's even want us there. Yes, they are freed from an evil dictatorship and have had every opportunity to form a military, form police, and build a government. They are too hell bent on killing one another over some little differences in their so called "peaceful" religion. Yeah, we f-ed it up pretty good. But there is a time when we hand the ball to the Iraqis. When is the time good for you? 3 years? 5? 10? It's time for them to take the initiative. "We are not a nation of nation builders" George W. Bush

I don't think the Middle East does democracy. I think that if we pull out there will be civil war and, provided Iran does not invade, the strongest side will win and Iraq will eventually become a similar theocracy to Iran.

No democracy will not rule because is not yet in their culture, will come in the future but US and UK should never ever go there, they did for the Oil and IRAQ strategic position, but it hasn't be easy as they forecast. Now they have only a ruined country and terrorists multiplied by 10.000.

Personally, I don't think we are doing any good over there. We don't belong there and the country will just go back to it's former ways when we leave. This is becoming another Viet Nam controversy and we should bring our boys home.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks.. It may take a while but they will find, or get a new ,brutal leader and will war with the rest of the middle east in the name of a god that would have them do no such thing.
