I have 2 teenage daughters and boy do we use hairbrushes! I remove all the hair and either put in my dishwasher or in the washer with a load of clothes. Cleans all the hairspray and products out of the brush and cleans the bristles! I prefer the dishwasher..as the drying cycle and the detergent seem to get the brush nice and clean!

Good Luck!

I myself have done this before. Take all the hair from the brush out with your hands or use a fine tooth comb. I then scrub with a old tooth brush using a mild detergent. (this may sound werid) But I run them through the dishwasher . They come out looking clean and the hot water will help kill any bacteria that may be on them.. You can even run your bath scrubbies through too. just be sure to put them on the top rack.. Good Luck
