In fact, the United States government has installed and supported many murderous regimes throughout its history. In the paradigm of the Global Empire of the United States, abuse of power and murder is acceptable as long as it coincides with American economic and military interests.

Question should have read:
Why does Bush call ANYONE who resists American Imperialism a terrorist?

2007-07-15 02:33:50 · update #2

ohio, I am referring to how Bush makes claims about the resistance fighters in Iraq...he constantly refers to them as terrorists.

What the proponents of the Iraq invasion do not realize (or care about, perhaps) is that peace and justice are inextricably linked. While terrorist acts are evil and their perpetrators deserve severe consequences, they are ultimately desperate acts of revenge against the imperialism, hubris, avarice, abuse, and murder perpetrated by the US government for many years. I strongly believe the United States has the right to pursue its attackers to the ends of the Earth to render justice and to defend its people, but that is not what the Bush administration is doing. The Neocons simply have simply used terrorist attacks as a rationale to unleash the Bush Doctrine. By invading and occupying a sovereign nation, America's leaders have wasted many lives and vast resources, while fueling antipathy toward the US and creating new terrorists.

If the Neocons truly had noble intentions, they would be employing far fewer American military forces in a much more efficient way by hunting down and rooting out the true perpetrators of terrorism, and they would be revising US foreign policy to root out imperialism, economic aggression, and flagrant disregard for international law. Instead, the Neocons chose to brutalize a nation and thumb their collective noses at the world.

Razor Jim you are wrong Bush constantly refers to those who resists as terrorists, this is a LIE.

No matter what some people claim to believe on Sunday, we are all still fairly committed to "survival of the fittest." But culture demands that we do not take what we want, merely because we can. That would be barbarous! So we must impute bad intent on our rivals. Then, under the banners of morality and ethics, we may plunder with impunity and enjoy the spoils with good conscience.

Therefore, the thinking goes that if you do not believe your country has the right and moral duty to secure what is deserved, you must be on the otherside. Get it now?

Gee... you mean like Japan... or Germany.... or South Korea..? Yep the US sure is an imperialist nation all right... Of coarse you don't let facts get in the way of a good anti American rant.... Leftest never let truth get in the way of propaganda....

Its not exactly imperialism.

Please do not think of Islamic extremists as nice little guys trying to defend themselves from evil Americans.

Regarding the way US handled itself in Iraq is a load of bullsht.

I agree that there are some bad people in American politics, but there are many mad extremists who are also bad.

EDIT-
I also agree that Western style liberal politics will not work against Islamic extremism. Only Islam can defeat that extremist element.

It is only a reflection of self-centredness! Americans need to learn a lot about the world outside America rather than throwing stones at others sitting in a cozy glass house!

Because it makes a good soundbyte for the uneducated, disengaged, reactionary elements of our society to dig their teeth into for the few seconds it takes to sway them.

Untrue...France, Russia and China, to name a few have resisted U.S. aims for many years and have never heard them referred to as terrorists.....

Some of those fighting us in Iraq truly do hate the invasion of their country......but many who are bombing civilians at the market cannot possibly claim to be resistance fighters

And your original post said "ANYONE", thats the problem with making sweeping statements, even a child can disprove them

How very dare you.

Don't you know that all americas wrongs were forgiven - and they shall now and forever be referred to as the "victimised"?

You should have got the memo.

Incorrect. Terrorists are properly labeled and limited to those that kill innocent people with suicide bombs, and by other cowardly means.
