2008 rates for Disney World?

My boyfriend and I are going to be visiting disney world for 14 days in May of 2008. We want to book the trip as soon as possible.

I called a Disney phone number that somebody in a comment had left me. It was the place you call when ready to book your trip or if you have any questions. I asked when the 2008 rates come out and they said that they'll be out in the first 2 weeks of July. I called several days ago and they told me that they wont be out for another couple weeks.

I looked online and couldnt find an answer, and I've lost this number since.

Does anybody know when 2008 rates come out so that I can book my trip?

No one really knows for sure yet. They were saying that they were supposed to come out a few weekends ago, but they didn't. Then I heard the first week of July, but it has come and gone and still no '08 prices.

I would expect them to come out sometime in mid to late July like usual. Best thing to do is check the message boards where they talk about it all the time, get signed up for a newsletter (try to find a more reliable one that will get the news out in a timely manner, some can be pretty slow or find out late) or just keep watching Disney's site. I think the easiest thing would be to call Disney and ask them if they are out, they should have the most reliable info (most agents do anyway) Then if the rates are out you can book the right away, usually right after new dates or a code is released, the website can be really slow, not work, or not have the new info up right away. Disney is usually better since they can tell you if they are down or get you taken care of right away.

The day that rates come out, it will be a little crazy to try and get rates. Disney's phone line will have long waits, their internet site will be slow, etc. The rates for 2008 are not going to sell out on the first day, you can still get a room for most dates this year and even in some cases get it for dates that are really close. If it were me, I think I would wait till later in the day or until the next day, otherwise you will be spending a lot of time on the phone for something that really is not limited.



I just wanted to add one comment to one of the answers about AAA. First, they do not find out before everyone else, they find out at the same time as other travel agents. The biggest problem with AAA is a lot of times it is hard to get them to take care of things for you. I found that when I used to book with AAA that I ended up spending more time taking care of things and watching for things, it just became a headache for me.

The other thing is that, yes, their prices are lower than Disney originally, however, Disney will have specials all year that will make the price a lot lower than what AAA can get. They may offer free dining, ticket upgrades, free days, etc. Once they offer the code, the AAA price will be higher. If you do book with AAA, just be sure that you pay close attention for codes and things to come out because they aren't real happy about lowering the price and usually don't offer it willingly, you may also have to pay a fee for them to change.


Finally, I used to book with AAA for all of my trips. In my opinion, they don't really offer many benefits, other than their price is lower to start with. Like I said, they don't watch for codes, they don't inform you of things you need to know, they don't book dining, tours, etc. Basically, when I booked with AAA the only thing I felt like they did was book the trip and then give me my documents.

What you can do is go to expedia.com, travelocity.com, etc.

type in your dates you will be there.

They can give you the total cost and you can try to get the disney vacation packages. If you already have a place to stay and just want to get the cost for the activities then you can choose that choice.

One thing I did notice when I looked online is most of the hotels are already booked for May 2008.

go to www.google.com and search for disney world phone book. the 1st answer will have every disney number you will ever need. also go to AAA because they find out before anybody and their prices are way cheaper than disney's. you also get alot of benefits by going through them. have fun!
