I love watching music videos but these southern rappers are killing me.
They parade and throw money, mouth full of jewelry, and women who don't look the way they do once they take off the weave and the makeup. What is going ON?!
Ok, I must admit I like Lil' Jon and the Ying Yang twins but even they had a little bit of class in their videos. I don't know. I feel a difference, just can't put my finger on it.
AAAAND what the hell are they rapping about?! Ay baybay, wipe me down, and so on. Has anyone listened to these lyrics?
I'm sorry but it's utter CRAP!
Anyone else agree?

You must be from up north girl and you are not alone. I'm from CT and I love up north rap better than down south rap music. The southern rappers only seem to have good beats when they make songs and that's the only reason why I listen to that type of music. I agree with you to the fullest. The only southern rapper I like is TI and even though I don't understand everything he raps about he seems to be talking about something..lol. But it seems like in the south...any guy that can rap seems to be able to get a record deal. Now what's up with that??

You have to live in or at least have visited the south to fully appreciate southern rap. Ay Bay Bay... that's how people talk round here. Louisianna, Mississippi, Texas, Georgia ( I can only speak on where I've lived) these places are like different planets sometimes especially in the "hood". Broke people who never had a dollar get real flashy when they make a couple thousand. They talk about what they know ( which honestly ain't a damn thing, but hey that's how they living) ALL women on TV look totally different in their "natural" state, it's not just video girls.
What's going on? The South is just representing what they live- flamboyant, uneducated, oversexed, money loving, party all the time, get money, happy go lucky, look what I got type of lifestyles. They don't do better cuz they don't know any better.
Don't get me wrong all SOUTHERN black folks ain't like that but there is a subculture that is and sadly they are representatives for us all.

It's a formula that is marketed to the young, suburban CD buying public....and it works. It is nothing more than the long hair and faux leather of metal bands or the ripped T-shirts and spiked hair of punks, etc. Rap has been dead once it went from lyrics of the streets to lyrics created on the 50th Floor of a multi-national entertainment corporation's office complex.

Wow bravo boys!
Have you seen the lyrics for Party Like a Rockstar?
You would think it would be a good song ya know?

sounds like you are starting to grow up a little bit.
Most rap promotes and glorifies ghetto fabulousness and way too many people try to live the lifestyle.
