A TV Preacher just went on and on about how sinful it was to give out free hand outs.( then he went on to ask for $500.00 "Love offerings" for a new sound system)
That he said was a step in the direction of socialism. So Ok, Only those lucky enough to have a good paying job with health insurance are to have good health care. There are jobs, sure most of our nation's poor are working at low paying jobs. That have no health insurance. So to Heck with them if they get sick? Should we let them die? Is that Christ Like Thinking? If you go out to eat after Church today think about that person waiting on you, that person more than likely has no health insurance and the are working hard and for very little pay! Could you tell them they don't deserve heath care? Could you tell them their children don't deserve healt care? Do you think this cold hearted view is Christ like? I think Jesus would say that all people have a right to health care! What do you think Jesus would say?

I just noticed that this was not posted in the R & S site. Sorry. So okay, what if all people cannot recieve a colege education? Do you tell them they need to die of poor health because they do not have th I.Q. to attend college for a better paying job? What is the moral answer to health care?

I've always wondered how being hard hearted about health care worked with Christianity.
I can't imagine Jesus asking for insurance information before healing the sick.

Well, it looks like at least 2 people so far don't get what you are saying insofar as all people do not have the I.Q. to attend college in order to obtain those better paying jobs!. They have not had the courage to come right out and say that the poor do not deserve health care but we know that is what they mean! This is shameful if they also profess to be a christian! I as a Christian do understand what you are saying and I agree that as Christians we need to be more compassionate for the poor. I'll tip the worker when I go out to eat after church! I'll also keep these working poor in my prayers.

PS If a person has never lived off of welfare they should not profess to know all about it! It is an alful life.

this is a good question.

the sad truth is that there will always be a disproportionate amount of poor people. Poor people tend to have more children than they can afford, and giving them free health care, food stamps, free housing , etc... is not going to improve their overall situation. In fact what it does is encourages these folks to procreate more and simply get used to living off of public assistance instead of improving their education level to progress out of poverty.

Jesus was known to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable. I like that about Him.

Jesus said in John. "you have seen a great light" light means higher education which will eradicate poverty. We are responsible in our generation.
