Just curious. It just worries me about the ones in wheelchairs. How can they change a tire? And how do they get gas.

I'm pretty sure by law a gas station is required to put gas in their vehicles as long as they have more than one person working at the station....changing a flat is just a matter of calling AAA or some other roadside service. They usually have someone to assist them getting in the vehicle and checking for gas levels and other maintenance issues as well as having a cell phone.

I do not know. Although I do know this. If I was at the gas station and saw a handicapped person, I would automatically ask if they would like a hand. Also, if I saw they had a flat, I would stop and change it for them. But usually in my opinion if people are able to drive despite their handicap, they can usually manage to do those other tasks on their own as well.

As far as flats and roadside assistance, AAA would be an invaluable membership to join. If you need help pumping gas and there are no good samaritans available, you might want to try getting gas at one of the larger megastore gas stations. They often have more than one person working and would be able to help you out.

Where there's a will, there's a way. I have seen some very ingenious things done by disabled people. They have two choices, role over and die, or improvise, adapt, overcome.

unless they don't have the ability, they do themselves. if they cant I'm sure they are AAA members or something. and they most likely go to full service gas stations.
