A recent article in our local paper...The Youngstown Vindicator...said that the United States is the only western country without some form of government sponsored health care for it's citizens and was not even rated in the top twenty in providing health care for it's people. Sort of makes their argument against the feds doing health care invalid doesn't it? OOPS...my bad...this is the Untied States we're talking about where graft, greed, and corruption run rampant. Sorry.

I am against universal health care. I would rather keep my crappy insurance that I pay an arm and a leg for every month, with its higher than high co-pays than have more taxes taken away to pay for other people's health care.
Universal health care is just one more step closer to socialism.
I don't want others making my medical decisions for me.
Do yo really want to trust the GOVERNMENT with your medical needs and care ????

I agree with regerugged that people should pay for their regular medical expenses out of pocket and have insurance for major catastrophes. The whole concept of insurance is to cover against a major disaster which would wipe you out financially.
There is also the issue of medical freedom. Some people prefer to use alternative medicine which is not even covered by health insurance, and not everyone is impressed by our so-called medical miracles.

I do and many others. What makes you think you are entitled to this? I am not about to pay more TAXES so you can run to the doctor everytime your nose runs. Try taking care of yourself for once and not expecting everyone else to change your diapers for you.

No one opposes medical coverage for all. I am a conservative. I oppose universal health care, paid for with tax money. I think everyone should buy health insurance for catastrophes. We all should pay for our ordinary every day health maintenance, with cash.

I would oppose it. I work for my healthcare, why can't other people? I work for my house, why can't homeless people? I don't work so the government can STEAL my money in the form of taxes and give it to people who don't work.
