A few days ago it worked fine, then one time I lit it and a small metal bit underneath the flint was seen to be moving and this jammed the flint from moving at all.

Now that small piece of metal is gone and it wont spark anymore. What can I do now?

That little piece of metal you saw falling out of your ''zippo'' WAS your flint or what was left or it, your lighter is now useless, time to buy a new one.($.99cents)

Take the lighter out of the case. There is a little spring under the screw on the bottom. It feeds the flint to the wheel. If it's broken it can be replaced.
All zippos have a lifetime warranty. Send it to them if you don't / can't fix it yourself.
They will fix it and return it free. [you pay the postage]

That "little piece of metal" was the last sliver of flint.
Buy a new flint.
Open lighter, and pull lighter body out of the cover.
Turn over, and unscrew the screw on the bottom.
Drop in a new flint.
Replace the screw (with spring and plunger attached).
Reinsert body into cover.
Light away.
