I can't think of anything I need it for other to sign my name...
although that doesn't really qualify as cursive! (it's more like chicken scratch!)

I stopped writing in cursive around 1986 (age 12), and now have trouble writing anything besides my signature in cursive. I had horrible penmanship, and it actually took less time to print letters instead of writing in cursive, which was mandatory for a few years in elementary school. Frequently cursive is unreadable, in any event.

So . . . I don't even bother with cursive, unless it's my signature. I find it too frilly and inconvenient for my taste. I couldn't be bothered to learn short-hand.

I do. I write plenty of letters. I also keep a physical journal. I still write stories. Whenever I go anywhere, I carry a notebook. When I get bored, I write. I do think that companies that you write to are absolutely amazed when you send them a hand written letter, so when I am sending letters to them I actually write out the letters. When Christmas rolls around, every card I send has a hand written note in it about family updates. I think it adds a personal touch.
In this day and age when everything is automated, it is so nice to have a human touch. I think that is why I do it.

I do. I still have to use it for some reports. Also, personal writings. I received 2 letters in the mail the other day, both hand written. I loved it!

I have always kept every letter ever written to me, from childhood. I'm so glad that I did now, as you are so correct, it is rarely used anymore so it seems.

I started uni last year at 27 and that was a shock to the system. I've had to write 15 page essays in two hours by hand in exams and you can't do that fast enough if you are printing.

I do every once in a while when I'm writing a poem, but yeah....

Funny how our signatures turn into chicken scratch so quickly! I hardly recognize mine anymore except for the giant capital letters I use...

Yes, I do, but it is getting to look really bad, and it used to be really nice handwriting, but now I am in too much of a hurry. You should see my signature, he!! half the time I can't even read it.
