Do only white people know how to speak english properly?
Is that a notion in the media industry to recruit whites only as editors, journalists, and columnists in magazines and newspapers. We see such far and between colored people but they are hindered for roles in writing for a column or headline.

Of course not. There are plenty of non-white people in the News industry. Everyone's the same - its just how they're brought up. Quite probably white people have an advantage in English speaking because they often speak English all their lives and culture is full of it - but hows that stop non-whites from having the same culture - or anyone with different cultures can attain the same level with study.

Of course, some bosses may be racist, but if you don't have an accent (or else have a well written resume with examples to show of your advanced english), speak clearly with good English, they can't not hire someone to write.

Judging by some of the questions on here, there are a lot of people that do not know how to speak English properly - or know how to spell. I have to admit that your grammar leaves something to be desired!

I think that you have a real problem with regards to racism - and I can't work out if you are white or of some other ethnic origin.

I can only advise you that you should take each individual on face value. And I have no idea why you should suggest that not many coloured people are hindered for writing columns or headlines - I think that you need to broaden you mind and your education.

No.
Proper spelling and grammar are the prerequisites for such a position.

I can't hear your tone when you write, so I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic... or if you agree and think only white people speak English properly. BUT, I'm sure the reason these people were hired was because of their skills, not skin color. Most people, by 2007 would look past color of skin and sexual preference.

Do you watch the television You will see many reporters from the ethnic minorities, they are often quite young and will work their way up the ladder of promotion.

Oh give it a rest!
We've been hearing the same moaning and whining for almost 300 years.
Get some new material, please.

If you can write, you have a job. If you can't, you don't.
Why should we lower our performance just because you can't keep up?
That old dog won't hunt no more!

If you have proof of this you could take it to a tribunal !
But I suspect you don't. I am sorry to be rude but you appear to have some kind of a chip on your shoulder.
