The only time you ever NEED to pull the foreskin back is when you are taking a shower and cleaning it. It's important to retract it before cleaning it to make sure that dirt and bacteria doesn't get trapped underneath it. Other than that, there is no need to pull the foreskin back if you don't want to.

Some guys pull their foreskin back when they pee because they find it easier to avoid splashing or they don't want to get urine trapped underneath it. Other guys find it easier to just leave it forwards when they pee because the foreskin provides a funnel effect that directs the urine where they want it. Some guys masturbate with it pulled back to expose the head, others leave it forwards because theirs is too sensitive and yet others like to move it back and forth for the stimulation. Some guys try to keep theirs retracted all the time so that they look circumcised and other guys like to leave it normal so that they don't loose sensitivity.

So it really just depends on the guy. So if you want to leave it forwards all the time, there is no problem with that (as long as you pull it back to clean underneath it).

Just for a few seconds to rinse out the head of the penis when you shower, and it also slides up and down during sex and masturbation to stimulate the head (since it's already lubricated, it feels good when it rubs it). That's the gliding mechanism.

Do you have a tight foreskin? If so, that's pretty to fix without surgery. Here, I'll post what I posted in another question in case that's the case:

Some may say that circumcision will fix it, but circumcision's risks include reduction in sensitivity and pleasure, and making masturbation more difficult according to studies (including a few new ones from a few months ago). Oddly enough that's how it was promoted in the USA since masturbation was bad, haha. There's a reason why the USA is the last remaining advanced nation still doing it, and even so, it's getting a lot less popular (it's now as low as 14% in some states). Save that as a last resort, as you're doing. That's only one of the few risks, there's more listed here, in addition to the studies and statistics:

I was the same when I was younger, and now it slides fine with no problems whatsoever. Just pull back your foreskin when you shower the most you can without forcing it, and rub the head. That should encourage it to separate from the head. This is probably all you have to do, since this is common especially with teens. You just haven't 'used' it enough, as in masturbation and washing it. The same goes for sensitivity; the more your rub it the less sensitive it'll get (start using water when you shower then rub a little more each day).

And if its rather tight, you can get a cream that works in almost 95% of cases. It's 0.05% betamethasone or betamethasone dipropionate. And unlike circumcision it is very cheap ($12 in the USA), painless, and you don't risk decreasing sensitivity/pleasure and making masturbation more difficult.

Try that cream. It works. Doctors often just mention circumcision since its a surgery that brings a lot of money to them, especially in the USA.

If you have questions, e-mail me from my profile since I've gone through this. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

I had the exact same thing at one point, basically there's nothing serious going on here its natural for you to have a tight foreskin. If you pull it back as far as you can and hold it there for about 30 seconds, do this a few times per day; you should notice your foreskin loosen quite a lot. It took me about 2-3 months for my foreskin to fully ravel down until i could completely see my penis tip. Nothing to worry about. It helps pulling it in the shower because your penile glans swell a bit which allows a further elastic foreskin. Hope this helped!

all the sensitivity is in the head of the penis - when a guy gets an erection the head should be exposed - this enhances the sexual experience - some foreskins are so tight it is painful to pull it back when erect - if this is the case talk to your physician about it - there is a procedure to correct this

It is essential to make sure that when you have sex that the foreskin slides easily back and forth, if it does not then you might have to be circumcised.

Yes it is. For cleansing to stop any chance of infections.
Circumcision is hurtful the older you get.
There are other reasons. Someone else can explain to you

To clean that bacteria trap! That is plain digusting if you are uncut and don't clean yourself! Do yourself a favor and go get circumcised!

No it is not necessary, but if you do, the head which is sensitive, may provide you with some greater pleasure.
