I wear a white pearl necklace all the time. I was always led to believe that pearls were symbolic of "wisdom". I remember Princess Diana always wore a pearl choker. I find them very flattering and classic. If there is any deranged saying going on about pearls, it's just someone's opinion.

However, giving someone a "pearl necklace" means to ejaculate semen over their face and neck.
