I belive in the whole Karma stuff.. so i`m tryin to be kinda good.. but i`m nervous, what if something bad still happens to me anyway.. that means i`ve wasted time being nice.

Fact: Most of the lead characters, including the director of My Name is Earl are Scientologists, hence why I don't really like it any more - there is a strange "undertone" to the show.
Karma is good, but a sinister cult like Scientology is not something I would want to support in any way, shape or form, even if it is surreptitiously "forced" on me by propaganda masquerading as a TV show.

I always think that if you are nice to people they will be nice back. I watched Earl for the 1st time the other night and loved it but after reading Mick Dundee's answer and the attached link I will give it a miss from now. Scientology = Creepy.

Ever since I started watching Earl, I thought, its not a bad philosophy: Do good things, Good things will happen.
i haven't done alot, just little things:
Let people in in traffic when I dont really have to
Hold the elevator for people
Let people jump the queue when they are obviosly in a hurry.
Give small change to people in the street.
Ask people who look a bit confused or lost if I can help.
Give up my seat to old people on the bus (actually I;ve always done that .... but - see next point....
Ask other people to give up their seat to old, pregnant or disabled people on the bus.
you know what- it appears to work
Since starting this life change I have won $19000 in the lotto and got a new job which I am so happy about.
DO GOOD THINGS AND GOOD THINGS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU.

As we get older, we try to be 'a worse person'. Trying to be better is a form of self-denial that results in boredom and joylessness. Break the rules, have fun and don't listen to moralists.
