Mira Road is not an affluent area. It is not an area where people say with pride, "I live in Mira Road". Not like Juhu or Powai or Ghodbandar Road or Bandra West. The housing is mostly low class with shanty and other poor construction at the moment.

It is located just off the Western Express Highway and is therefore well located for travel into Mumbai. Also, there is a good railway link to the middle of Mira Road from CST (Victoria Terminus) Mumbai.

And this point is important. All Mumbai developments in recent years have concentrated on good transport routes. That may make Mira Road a good location for the next big boom area. At the moment, it's a bit depressing but try to look ahead and see the prospects.

Mira Road is a small town in Thane district just north of the city of Mumbai. It is part of the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation. Mira Road is a railway station on the Western railway line of the Mumbai suburban railway.

It is situated on the island of Salcette. A marshy creek divides Mira Road from Mumbai. Earlier, Mira Road was divided into two main parts, Shanti Nagar and Naya Nagar. In recent times, several new localities like Hatkesh, Jangid, Silver Park, Beverly Park, and Evershine Enclave have come up.

Although it is officially not under the BMC, it enjoys all the facilities available in Mumbai like 24hr power supply from Reliance, telephone services from MTNL, piped gas from Mahanagar Gas, and bus services from BEST. State Transport and Thane Municipal Transport buses have started running between Mira Road and Thane.

Commuting to and from Mira Road is very tiresome and
difficult as the trains will be always over crowded.
