If so, then why not a Conservative bias? Does being "Fair and Balanced" mean giving both sides a voice, even if one of the sides are false? Is the new today more concerned with stories that entertain than with stories that inform? Why do journalists let quest get away with spreading lies and falsehoods, when they know what they are saying is false. Why is it that the people watching or listening to the show have to call in to correct them. Are journalist of today just lazy or they just dont care? (by lies i mean actual lies not diferances of opion.)

No, there used to be but for the past 20 years the media is corporate owned and operated.

If there was a liberal bias why did 50% of Americans believe that Iraq was behind 9/11?

If there was a liberal bias why do most Americans think that there's a scientific disagreement about anthropogenic global warming?

No and yes. Most media outlets are owned by a handful of conservative corporations and individuals, and funded by usually economically conservative advertisers who have no need for an educated, alert, independent and critical citizenry. What they need is a dumb, bored, cynical and apathetic public that has abandoned all critical faculties and is easily distracted by celebrity gossip and mindless sports games. A public that will believe anything it is told, or nothing at all, which amounts to the same end result. This pro-corporate conservative bias of the media is well-documented and shows itself in consistent under-reporting or ignoring of any information that would lead people to question the fundamental status quo.
Even Republican Pat Buchanan confessed, "For heaven sakes, we kid about the liberal media, but every Republican on earth does that." Neo-conservative pundit Bill Kristol also said, "I admit it: the liberal media were never that powerful, and the whole thing was often used as an excuse by conservatives for conservative failures."

Michael Moore, Sicko, lit into Wolfe Blitzer, CNN this week about CNN's unbalanced review of the movie about the lack of health care in the United States. I agree whole heartedly with Michael Moore. The really sad part is that CNN is probably the least damaging to Democratic issues than any other 'news' channel
FOX news, with O'Rielly, Hannity, Ann Coulter and other extreme right wingers distort the news in faver of this Republican President and the War in Iraq because the company is owned by a crazed right winger who is invested in the advantageous tax and corporate support by this Republican administration.
G. Gorden Liddy, and Rush Limbaugh and his doodoo heads, take up the air waves with hate and distortions of Democratic causes.
So, the tv and radio media do not present a balanced view since they're owned by corporate managers who will support the product that delivers the money.
Thanks

You are right. Fox lies all the time, and a Florida Court, after a Fox reporter was fired for not reading a story she knew was false sued, said it was OK for Fox to LIE!

When is it OK for the media to lie?

Look, I live in NH and we have the Manchester Union Leader and Fosters daily Democrat, both ultra right-wing conservative rags!

People hear what they want to hear, but in Fox's case, they are NEVER fair and certainly not anywhere closed to being balanced. Off their rocker is more like it!

Michael Moore is not the media, He is a documentary maker who has won an Academy Award!

to me it feels like there is no such thing as liberal media bias because conservatives own so many mediums. the news is becoming based more on entertainment because that is what the public is begining to be more attentive to. what ever gets the publics attention will bring in more money so that is what the media has to deliver. like the death of Anna Nicole Smith, she got more news time during the week she died than American soldiers dying in Iraq.

There is no such thing as unbiased media what so ever. Flip back and forth on the TV between fox news and the Communist News Network and MSNBC. It will really give you a headache but you will see how preposterous our media really is.

Ok, I can see where this is going.

I think you need to calm down, gather your thought and ask one question at a time.

There is way to much going on here.
