OK, I have these friends that are very very very very nice and theyre my best friends in the whole world, and yet they discriminate against me and gang up on me for expressing my own political views even though they started it. It's like their views are the only ones that count. Even my one friends mom told me to stop it when I was over their house!! And I didnt say a peep till they said something first!! And yet we share everything else in common - personality, likes, dislikes, grew up with similar environment, parents sort of alike, and yet when he says his ridiculous political crap I wanna punch him for being retarded!!! But we get along perfectly and do things together and thats the only point of contention between us. Why do people have to be so bound by political ideology when the alternative is sooo much better - ie enjoying the good times together???

once upon a time there was an expression

"GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE"

Some halfwitted moron came up with the reply that

"fools seldom differ".

To most questions there is one correct answer, maybe two. For every right answer therefore, there could be millions of wrong ones.

FOOLS DIFFER all the time!!

Just the fact that this tidbit of logic managed to escape the public's attention long enough for it to become entrenched in our language, should answer your question.

People tend to get emotionally involved when talking about politics. Most people (check out some of the questions in Politics & Government) aren't terribly rational or informed when it comes to politics. We take a stance on an issue and look for things to confirm our beliefs. Anything contrary to those beliefs, we consider lies.

I think we do this because politics is something that we don't feel affects us directly. It's like watching Survivor on TV. You pick a person you like and you hate someone else. You don't know these people and they don't affect your life, but you have strong feelings about them. If that makes any sense. Notice that the things you and your friends like to do has nothing to do with politics.

As for why you and your friends differ so much politically, odds are they weren't raised exactly as you were and they don't have the exact same experiences. Even if you were brought up exactly the same, people see things differently.

Your best bet is to refrain from discussing politics with your friends at all. If they bring it up, change the subject to something else that you agree on. If they insist on baiting you with this, then you need to find some REAL friends.

(in different phrases, they are livin in a dream international and that they don't understand that their party has been taken over via neocons and non secular enthusiasts) i hit upon it not person-friendly to believe that "enormously liberal" human beings would evaluate not balloting for Obama... the mainstream option is 4 extra years of failed conflict policies, persisted environmental irresponsibility, and monetary destroy with out plan for progression for many if not maximum human beings. what's your definition of "enormously liberal"? To me, meaning truly open-minded and fairly present day... Obama ought to attraction a great deal to "enormously liberal"s!
