-5(x + 2) + 3 = 5
-5X-10+3=5
-5X-7=5
-5X=7+5=12
=> X=-12/5.

-5(x + 2) + 3 = 5 (multiply the -5 to x and 2)
-5x -10 = 5 - 3 (move 3 to right side of 5 and
change the sign to (-)
-5x = 5 - 3 + 10 (move 10 to the right side of 3 and
change sign to (+)
-5x / -5 = -12/5
= -12/5

-5(x + 2) = 2
multiply the parenthesis
-5x - 10 = 2
-5x -10 = 2 add 10 to both sides
-5x = 12 then divide both sides by -5 to get x by itself
x= -12/5
eh with a simple equation like that i was told never to multiply the parenthesis out first but whatever

PEMDAS... so..
first distribute the -5 thus making the equation...
-5x -10 + 3 = 5
then isolate the variable x by transferring all other nos to the other side of the equation.. dont forget to change the signs once you transfer it....
-5x = 5 + 10 -3
then solve...
-5x =12
divide it..
x= -12/5
