Senators John Warner, a WWII Navy vet, and Richard Lugar, considered the Senate's leading authority on WMD's have done just that. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070714/ap_on_go_co/us_iraq

So what happens now? Does Warner get swiftboated by the Busheviks? Does Ann Coulter brand both men "whiny liberals?" Are both long time Conservatives now "Traitors?" Do their names go on the "No Fly List?" Does Bill O'Reilly and Faux News pretend it never happened?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Terry Z, I see from your answer that the attacks on these two are starting already.

Thanx for the compliment, but it's my GF's tie dye, borrowed for the pic, because so many people have commented on my resemblance to Jerry.

Mostly I wear Hawaiian Shirts.

I imagine that they wil be branded as unpatriotic, and it will go downhill from there.

Rush will refer to them as traitors. Hannity will squint at the cameras and smirk about their ties to Communism, and Ann Coulter will likely call them a bunch of cowardly puss!es with no ball or back bones.

You know how it works.

Just imagine the level of discourse you may happen upon at a grade school playground.

I like your tie-dye, btw, it's cute... did you buy it or make it (we haven't had much luck with homemade ones- but, then, we use the Easter egg dye mostly. Though we didn't have much luck with clothing dye either, but it was a lot of fun - and really cute before it washed out).

The trouble is, what will happen when (if?) we pull out. Frankly, Iraq is clearly not the problem anymore. Most of the problems IN Iraq are coming from countries NEAR Iraq.

It's really, really weird dealing with people who care for nothing more than the complete annihilation of us (I'm not talking about the average Iraqi, the average Arab, or probably even the average Muslim - but rather the radicals who are practicing Jihad).

The weirdest part is that the people on their side are wanting to kill all of us, but the people on their side in this country are the very people who are supporting them. Go figure. Most of us have a strong moral compass and don't believe in moral relativism. But the moral relativists are the ones supporting the terrorist activity. Does that make any sense at all?

It's the "do what you feel" "free love" peaceniks that want to wave the white flag, but when it comes down to it, it's the average Joe with a quiet life, religion, and moral base that the Muslim community could most 'get along' with. But who are the Wahhabists quoting? Those that have a history of moral relativism?

I sure don't get it. Come on! I understand the need to be faithful to one person (in my case, one man). I understand standing up for the right thing. The one thing I don't understand is why human life is so unimportant that it is ok to slaughter others. And I don't understand why it is not ok to try to protect those being slaughtered. I just don't.

They change their minds like Bill and Hillary Clinton. They knew what was going on over there when they were in office and they did not do a thing about it because they were to busy using their power to get laid. Didn't Bill and Hillary think there were WMD's also by the intelligence they got? The war is going bad so the cowards want to cut and run. Wait till you see the chaos when this happens.

i would bet my life savings and everything i own that we lose the Iraq war. This war is lost from every angle you look at. It is lost because occupiers don't beat insurgencies. It is lost because Iraqis hate us, It is lost because the US people want out, and it is lost because congress wants out. The only question remains: how many more lives and how much more money will we throw away?

They are ignorant and weak. They are Republican in name only. You don't turn your back on our troops during a war. We NEED to finish this and establish a government.

You people just assume:

1) As we pull out the terrorist won't be taking shots at our troops, like shooting fish in barrell.
2) Radical Muslims will start to love us.
3) Terrorism will just stop.

No matter what we give them. Look at Israel, they have given a lot and still can't live in peace. I can guarantee that a pull out now will create the blackhole of jihad and it will spread consuming all of the middle east. They will send their car/people/dirty bombs to the US instead of using them in Iraq.

Who will you blame then? Bush???? You people don't see that these people will always hate us.

Republican senators can sponsor the strategy in Iraq by withdrawing from the war and return the American soldiers to their families.
