Run TMC ( Mullins Warriors )...Clyde's Trailblazers...Barkley's and Nash's Suns...Weber's Kings.....Sonics... with Chambers, Ellis, and the X- Man, and... Dirks Mavs.
All could run and gun. But how many championships has any of those teams won.....0
Only 4 teams played in Championships with a combined 7 wins in Championship play.
Yes Dirk should be traded so Dallas could win and this is how "IT SHOULD HAVE WENT"
Trade Dirk to the Timber wolves for KG and then sign Ron Artest. 2 good scores and 2 Great defensive players. There coach can only work with what he has....and what he has is Runners. But Avery Johnson is a defensive minded person.
Then trade all that other loose baggage Stackhouse, Dampier, and Willis for a solid Draft pick ( A solid 6 man )
With the talent the keep and the talent they get, they could easily challenge a defeat The Spurs.

The Mavericks should not trade Dirk. They need to surround him with better players. The only player that they should ever consider trading Dirk for would be Lebron and the Cavs would not make that trade. There is no one in the league that I would trade Dirk for. Bryant has too many issues, Garnett could be had for less, Duncan is getting up in age. The Mavericks should now focus on adding Steve Francis and Chris Webber for some veteran depth. If Francis is added then Devin Harris or Jason Terry could be traded for a big guard at the two position. Matt Barnes could also add to this team if Francis or Webber sign with another team. Dirk is untouchable and the first round of the playoffs was a fluke and no one but Nellie could have beaten the Mavs after the season they had.

I really wouldn't trade Dirk for I was them. Only reason the Mavs lost in the first round was because Don Nelson knew that team so bad, they didn't stand a chance. (Don Nelson is the former coach of the mavs) Dirk could have been more effective though, he never attacked the basket. Last time I checked, Dirk is a pretty big guy and the Warriors really have no big men but Harrington.

Dirk has stigma, but Dirk has GAME. Be patient. All the Peyton Manning haters quieted in a hurry when the Indianapolis Colts beat the chicago Bears in the Super Bowl. maybe Dirk's just a year or two away from never again being called Dirk NoWINski.

Sometimes a true champion needs to overcoming lots of adversity and "choking" to get it done. Just look at the example of John Elway, for example. Or on a team scale, the 2004 Boston Red Sox. Michael Jordan WAS the Chicago Bulls for a few years, but once he got the right players around him and the right coach, the 1990s Bulls were as legendary as any dynasty in pro sports history.

The Mavs would be absolutely out of their minds to trade Dirk, no matter how much money and draft picks and players they get in return.

Dirk is the reason mostly for thei succes. I'm a huge mavs fan and dirk is a great resource `for their rebounds and points. Why this all star team keeps on losing? It's because they depend on him when in any professional sport, you can't really depend on anyone! If you have to in the NBA, it should be your coach, MLB it should be the coach and in the NFL it should be the coach and a little bit of the QB, that's all. They got an amazing team just make sure they share the ball and each player does their job. Jason Terry to me is the cause of all this, in the NBA to win a championship. Hre just scores. Don't trade dirk he is the key to their victorys.

NO- you do not,, basketball is more than any other sport a game of matchups, the warriors would have been eliminated in the first round had they not played the mavs and the mavs would have quite possibly won it all,, for example kings v.s. spurs 2 years ago playoffs,, the spurs were a far superior team to the kings( i am a kings fan) but the kngs almost took them and bonzi wells played like a hall of famer and it was all because that the kings just matched up well with them,, the mavs are a far far better team than the warriors but were unfortunate to play a team who was very hot and matched up very well,,and to trade the mvp because of that,,no

No, Nowitzki is a great player and there's no need to trade him. The Mavs were a great team last year and if they do the same this year, they have a big chance of winning the championship.

They should keep Nowitzki.

A.J.'s a decent coach, and he learned a lot from Gregg Popovich when he was with the Spurs. The Spurs' greatest strengths are unselfishness on the part of their players and a very strong bench.

You don't build these overnight. It takes years of recruiting and trading to build these things, and you get a few players who don't work out. But eventually you wind up with a nice deep team.

That's basically why the Spurs won this year. They depended a lot on a good bench and kept a good rotation to keep their best players from getting too tired.

The Mavs overplay Nowitzki. Even Goliath needed to take a nap every now and then.

Cuban is so bored with the team's lack of success that he wants to buy the Cubs and start a new pro football league. Why not Dirk at first at Wrigley Field?!

No they shouldn't. Dirk is a once in a lifetime player, so they just need to add some pieces on their bench, and they will be well on their way to getting close another Championship.
