The conscience of man...that moral center which defines us from every species on the planet.
We have foresight...the ability to see the consequences of our actions, and still to make the choices we do.
And the gift of speech and the written word and art and advancement and a hundred other things.
These are the things that make us truly human. Our souls make us human. I truly believe that we are made in the image of God...and that is what makes us human.

Physically we are made up of much the same stuff as any other species on the planet. It's our brains that separate us. Our brain is the most complex structure known and we still are finding things out about it.
We have self consciousness, and the power to think constructively about a means to an end. These talents have enabled us to become the supreme species on this planet. Unfortunately the price we pay is a sense of doubt and lack of understanding of our place in the universe. Solution = God, Result = War/Hate.
Intense emotions plague us constantly, and we need to feel that there's something more than this life, something after life i.e. Heaven/Hell. Alas the doctrines and deities, to quell our lusts of greed, jealousy, hatred, bitterness, resentment, power.
These things make us truly human, and wether that is a good or a bad thing is up to you to decide.

having great wars and fights due to foolishly thinking ones religion is superior to the other's, when no one has seen or proven that there even is a god- at least animals fight for food and survival, only when it is absolutely necessary
