Do kids not like other kids who are shy?

I've always been really shy,. I just want to know if kids may make fun of me for this. I was only made fun of in elementary by this one guy and his friend who were later nice to me. Then last year by these guys I never even talked to or had any classes with except one. I didn't even know him and he'd just make fun of me and pretend like he's making a move on me but only to make fun of me in a bad way. And then he says things like he's trying to hit on me also in a bad manner. And then his friends would also make fun of me. I'm going to highschool nexy year and I kow it may be alittle worse, but do kids tend to make fun of other kids who are shy or only talk with their friends?

kids tease any random kid for any random pointless reason. i dont know ppl to say ive been picked cuz im shy, unless they r shy & r friendless. i dont know why ppl do what they do all the time, but just dont give their jokes & insults any importance; ignore them. if they keep at it u need to stand up for urself & tease them.

No it is not always true. My son when he was little was extremely shy. He had a head full of beautifully curls that would attract every stranger anywhere we went in public. The poor kid would run and hide. Then when he was about halfway thru kindergarten the flood gates were let loose and he hasn't stopped. The teacher said that she sees this sometimes were they finally come out of their shell and have to make up for lost time. He's 10 now and I swear he now knows everyone we run into. We've been at the store and he will say "hi Mike" to some strange guy and I'll be like whose that honey and he'll say oh that's one of the guys that put the new roof on the house two blocks down the street or that's the guy who was painting the fire hydrants last week. I do think you can unlearn it. Expecially after you have been around a few positive people who make you feel as tho they have your back. I was shy when I was younger but then after I worked in a few places with some good self assured bosses I learned how to take charge and not question myself everytime.

Of course this is true. People in school can be very cruel. The people who make fun of others are the ones who need to be criticized. They are the ones doing wrong. They are the ones who need the most improvement.

People who make fun of others are actually insecure about them selves. They try to take the focus off of their own short comings by pointing out, what they think are other people's short comings.

The best thing you can do when people are making fun of you is to exit. Don't say anything to them, because that will only fuel their fire and make them continue to harass you. They are looking for a reaction from you and if they don't get it, they will stop doing it because there's no fun in bothering some one who does not react. You know who the people are that make fun of you, so make the effort to ignore them like the plague. Act as if they are invisible and do not exist. No eye contact, and do not talk to them, no matter what they say. Let anything they say, hurtful or not fall on deaf ears. Only acknowledge people who are civil to you.

teeangers make fun of kids all the time no matter what im going into high school to but im going to school where i only know 2 people so ill probably get made fun of a lot and im not shy im actually really outgoing and i get made fun of for not haveing a girlfriend or something really stupid i just ignore them and if any of ur friends make fun of u for being shy then i say ditch them dont be friends with them cuz friends shouldnt make fun of friends but kids make fun of kids all the time cuz they are f**s

I think it gets better as you get older. I know there were some nasty people in my elementary school though that made fun of me for being shy to the point where I had to switch schools.

No thats not usually the case, sometimes kids think that people who dont talk alot think they are better than everyone and would rather not to people
but since you are starting High school, I would suggest you break outside your bubble. The first day of school, just say hi to everyone one you see, it wont hurt and it will get you alot of friends

I think it is really cruel to make fun of kids who are shy, u know. But as far as I know kids do make fun of other kids but not purposely because they are shy.Maybe they're just curious why you're so shy.......

Normally people dont tease shy people. They've done nothing weird.
Personally, I just dont be friends with them. Why would I want to be friends with someone who doesnt wanna speak more than 2 words at a time?

No. Alot of people are shy, even me. I have a couple of close friends but towards cute guys I tend to be all hush hush and stuff. Sooner or later you wont be as shy you get use to it I guess.
To the guys that tease you tell them to f*ck-off....depending on what they say.

well its an unproven fact that everyone will make fun of some one no matter who you are or what your wearing or who ur friends are....etc and it goes on down the line, all you have to do is play along with it, laugh at yourself, be spontainious dare to go where you fear to tread. they can't really hurt you if you don't make it seem like its getting to u.

hello,,kids will always find someone to pick on, or something you do is not the way they do it.being part of the group is hard to understand sometimes it is just because they are friends of a friend. or from the same part of town , either way there is a pecking order in any group someone is in some kind of control usually if not you could be in.
