If the situation was bad enough, yes. Sometimes in life we have to do things we don't want to do cause it's the best thing for the situation.

Thankfully, I don't have any family member who needs protective services called on them. But, if I had an abusive husband or some other abusive relative/friend... I would very likely call them. It would take some very specific extenuating circumstances to stop me.

Well its either do that or tell the kid when theyre grown up that I just didnt have the heart to turn in my family member. Watching them be beaten, starved or neglected was easier for me. I think I'll pick up that phone. Blasted people that cant treat their children right!

If the children were being harmed or neglected, I would first talk to the family member and express concern. If it was severe abuse or if after our talk it did not change, I woild most definately call CPS for the childrens sake.
