The question here is... do you "really" mean "download"?

If you mean download a large file in many small pieces, most download managers already do that.

If you mean split a file into many different pieces, use WinRAR or 7-zip.

You can use FreshDownload - www.freshdevices.com

This, like other download managers, opens several channels to the server at once and downloads files in smaller chunks.

If your problem is simply large downloads failing, it will also have a go at resolving that - but Firefox can do this natively. This requires the correct server support (resume support is required), so may not work on all sites.

Not that I'm aware of. But you can download a file let's say 5mb then when it is saved to your computer, you can then use winrar to save and separate the file to a 1.4mb chunks of file giving you a 5 separate files. just download winrar at rarlab.com
