I don't understand why so many wives just lay down and take this behavior. Just because you love your husbands does not mean they have free reign to treat you like this. Yes he loves, you blah blah blah, great dad, great hubby (when sober). I'm going to bet his alcohol use has increased quite a bit over the years and the behavior has gotten worse. Grow a backbone, give the man ultimatum - quit drinking or else. If he can't, tell him he can choose AA or his wife and family. All you're doing is acting as an enabler to a disease that is getting worse. Stand up for yourself.

I bet when you're drunk you act an *** and make poor decisions.
How he is taking advantage of the situation since you're the one who is getting drunk does not make any sense and is something I would expect a drunk to say.

You don't need to stop drinking. I'm shocked with how many people are saying that it's okay for your husband to be mean to you simply because you drink now and then. Alcohol issues people? Probably children of alcoholics, you know the type, they accuse anyone who gets drunk of being as demonic as their parents.
Anyways, you just need to talk to him and tell him that he shouldn't treat you so poorly. Ask him if it's his immature and stupid way of trying to get it through to you that he doesn't like your drinking. If that's the case, he's a passive agressive fool although you're drinking may be a problem.
My guess though is that he probably just finds it amusing and doesn't realize this is having an effect on you. When my husband gets drunk and I don't, I'm rather cruel to him too. Not because I have a problem with his drinking, I don't. I think getting pissed on occasion is good for one's mind, but I think it's so funny to be mean to him when he's drunk. He just acts ridiculous! Talk to him.

My husband is like that too-but only if he isn't drunk. He is jealous and thinks I might cheat on him because I'm drunk. I have agreed with him to only drink with him but he has to do the same.

Wow. You really had to ask a question to figure this one out? If hes only "mean " to you when your drunk then don't get drunk. Its kinda of a no brain-er don't you think?

Umm..how about STOP drinking? Your husband is showing his disapproval of a really nasty habbit and you just aren't getting it. Wouldn't you be mean to him if he did something YOU didn't like? Why is it that we expect our men to love all of us, flaws and all, but we can't do the same for them?
but, to solve your problem...
you want your husband to be nice to you right? Stop doing what makes him "mean" to you...ie DRINKING.
so, to rephrase...STOP GETTING DRUNK and your husband will be nice to you :) see how simple that was?
