If it's a political question or an issue of opinion, I vote in favour of anyone who is close to my opinion.

If it's a serious question that can be answered in a nonpartisan way, I vote for people who give appropriate answers and against people who don't.

If I'm asking a question, and it involves politics, I'll give a positive vote to anyone who gives what looks to be a thoughtful answer. As a result, I don't give many positive votes.

I also vote for the candidates the first answer talks about, but in the 95% of cases where this doesn't describe either I vote for whichever party currently has less power, because I believe an endless political stalemate is far better than either party's agenda.

I vote for the candidates, pro or con any particular issue, that aren't seditious, don't call our representatives names, don't treat them as "guilty until proved innocent" and don't spread unfounded rumors.
I vote for those who put our country ahead of their own personal ideology (whether in protest or cheering).
I vote for those who speak up, even against people in their own party, who are seditious or unpatriotic.

I never vote for socialism. A more effective way to corrupt our Constitution is unknown to me.

I'm a democrat. But first and foremost I am a patriot.
