I want to upgrade in tire size and im wondering what is the largest size i can get away with without harm???

I drive a 2003 Ford mustang.

According to http://www.discounttire.com the plus sizes for your car are as big as 275/35-18 (18") but may require new wheels.

If it's a six cylinder model you can safely upgrade to what they put on the V8 models. Anything over 17 inch is pushing it.
