Ok so I put a PS2 bundle on Ebay and someone bought it for 150 dollars. He sends me an email saying he lives in Virginia but is on a business trip in England. He says he bought the PS2 bundle for his kid for a birthday present. He says he was going to send me 150 for the product and 300 dollars for the shipping. I tell him I am not going to send anything until I receive the address and payment. When I go on Ebay, it says his account is no longer registered. He sent me an email with the address and mail instructions and he said that I should look out for a confirmation mail for the money. I waited and received nothing until I noticed a mail in the bulk folder and it was a "Paypal" confirmation mail. The weird thing is that the email address was verify@accountant.com or some **** like that. He says I have to send the shipping tracking number to that email and ill get the funds. I emailed him saying how can i send the mail if i dont have the money and asking why his ebay account is ....

No longer registered and told him that I will not send the package until I receive funds. I have not heard of him but its only been a little less than a day. Should I be suspicious?

I have also noticed that his feedback on ebay is set to "private". I click on the url which sends you to his feedback and it says that feedback comments are disabled but the feedback score is still there. His feedback score is -4

Don't send anything until you have the money in hand. He sounds like a scam artist. Good for you for not letting his screw you.

click the tab on the email that says headers, to open up the message headers and path, and forward it to spoof@paypal.com.
if they reply saying it isn't from paypal, then he is trying to scam you. report to Safe harbor, on ebay.
whatever youdo, do not log onto your paypal account from any link in that email. because if it is a spoof email, he will end up with your username and password.
if you already have, change your password immediately!
No longer registered could be anything really. He could have had a transaction that didn't go as well as intended and just hasn't cleared it up yet. I have purchased from people who where "no longer registered" and things have turned out fine, but yes it should send up a red flag.
lots of times they will do that if the registered credit card expires, and a new one isn't added to the account.
if it did come from ebay, send him a nice little letter, saying "your package will be sent shortly, thank you for your business" slap tracking on it, and enter it on the form. Once your $$ is safely deposited in your bank account, send out the real deal. just make sure to insure it, and keep accurate record and proof that you sent it, so he cannot dispute the tansaction, and have his money refunded after you send the thing.

What were the conditions of sale that you put on your auction? If the person is not registered on Ebay, chances are that they found a problem and no longer allow him to be a member.
It sounds as fishy as tuna to me. Tell him you'll send when his check clears the bank.

You should be VERY suspicious. Good for you! Do not send him anything until you have payment in your bank account. Also do not accept personal checks. Keep all the records of communication with him on file.

yes. the email from paypal will be from the paypal.com domain.. someone like this tried this scam on me cept he calimed to be in Nigeria. He did pay for the shipping but not the original charges. and i sent him a box of bricks (he tried to scam me out of a computer)

Does he have a track record. Ebay gives points for satisfied customers. That should help you. If he doesn't have a track record for ebay use then maybe you should be a little more cautious.

Don't deal with any weird stuff like that. Just quit communicating if you see any suspicion. People who pull off schemes can be very persistent and they'll always try to draw you in and keep you in contact.
