Its not true, my son spent 3 years at LIPA and never had problems. You will find rough areas in Liverpool and not so rough! It is the same in any city ! Be sensible and be safe. You can live in Halls of residence, which are safer. Keep an eye on your property, dont go showing off your mobile or new video to all! and not wandering alone down dark alleys!

liverpool, can i just say, im a manchester lad and we are supposed to hate them. I hate them, when theyre playin footy against us but when we are not, they are a fantastic bunch of people. I challenge you to go to any other city and try and find a friendlier bunch of people. Liverpool isnt even in the top 10 list for burglaries any more which is saying something, especially as it is one of the biggest cities in England.
All cities have rough spots, People are just very stereotypical about scousers because a lot of thievery went on about 50 years back when all of the docks closed so they were all out of a job. Not any more my friend, a fantastic place to go and the capital of culture so you know it will benefit you or whoever it is as a student in going to such an educational place.

Do not listen to any one there, all I can say is though, do not walk through town centre while wearing a Man U top on match day after givingthem a good beating. only joking, SCOUSERS ROCK

hope this helps.

I've lived here for a few years now and i've never had a problem or been mugged. Lost my phone a few times from being pi**ed but that's all. You see a few fights in town but where don't you???

Liverpool people in general are really nice, loud but usually friendly. You get the odd tw*t just like you would anywhere else but you shouldn't let bad press put you off coming here. There are tonnes of students here.

No!! I have lived in Lpool all my life (Im19) I have never been mugged or attacked or anything like that and none of my friends or family have. I feel totally safe walking through the city centre at night.
People who have never visited the city have opinions of it because of some negative stereotype from years ago. Liverpool has changed so much and is continuing to do so. It has lots to offer tourists and if you need anything or you get lost people will go out of their way to help you.
I love this city & Im proud to say I am a scouser!!
ps Nice answer from Dr Drop dead - Why Cant us scousers & u Mancs Just get along? (apart from on match days!)

Liverpool is a big City, good and bad everywhere. Use your loaf, don't go asking for trouble, same advice as anywhere. Liverpool gets a bad press, mostly from people who haven't set foot in the place. P.S. if you were unlucky enough to be mugged, most scousers would come to your aid, not like in London.

it is principally the government. there is a few actual skills at Liverpool. Torres is a desirable 5 striker interior the worldwide, Gerrard is between the suitable mid-fielders interior the EPL. and that they've some proficient youthful skills like Babel and Mascherano. yet Rafa does not be responsive to a thank you to apply that skills and that's what quite hurting Liverpool suited now. in the event that they could get a supervisor which would be responsive to what to do (cough*Mourinho*cough) they are going to be back among the perfect of the league till then even with the shown fact that they are going to fall. by fact the gamers are commencing as much as get disillusioned with Rafa's gadget.
