Some places do 2 weeks on each shift. It is a problem with sleep schedules, taking classes, bowling teams, scheduling daycare.
My boyfriend was doing that but wanted to go to college, I told him go for it 4 out of 6 weeks he could make his classes as long as he only worked days 2 weeks out of 6. So he enrolled then they let him stay on swing shift so he was able to work full time and go to school full time.
If you want grave yard they may just let you keep it so you don't have the other problems.
My mom worked swing shift for 20 years and loved it.
