Women of our generation have frequently led their lives listening to
voices other than their own. Following the guidance of parents ,

Well, I guess it would depend on which generation you're talking about. I don't know how old you are. You could be 18 or 65 for all I know. I'm 25 so I'll comment about my generation.
I go to a college where the women outnumber the men about 3 to 1. Women do have a tendency to find role models to look up to and model themselves after, but men do that too.

Why are you asking this in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered forum? Women in the USA pretty well live their dreams if they are willing to work hard. My daughters are 24, they were raised in a middle class family, in an average middle class neighborhood. They both have their college degree's and are in full time grad school working on their masters. My one daughter works a full time and part time job and owns her own car and house. My other daughter works a full time job and owns her own car and rents her own apartment.

I completely disagree! I think that women of this generation have been the most outspoken yet! Women of our generation are motivated and free. They are independent and motivated. They are everything that women in the past were not and o think that we should be more than proud of that! Well Good luck and Best wishes!
