Unlimited National In Calling Verizon to Verzon (mobile to mobile) are free with Verizon Wireless plans.
However with texts, pictures, and video messaging, you need to purchase a text messaging plan on top of your calling plan.
$5.00 a month = 250 text messages
$10 a month = unlimited text messages to Verizon customers and 500 additional messages for other cell phone carriers.
$15 a month = unlimited text messages to Verizon customers and 1,500 additional messages for other cell phone carriers.
$20 a month = unlimited text messages to Verizon customers and 5,000 additional messages for other cell phone carriers.

I agree with Ddominic. Except don't forget that if you have more than one phone on a family plan, each phone has to be set up with a plan, otherwise, you will be charged $0.15 for each text sent or received weather or not you open the text messages ($0.25 for pics). If you go over your texts/pics with a plan installed, you will only be charged $0.10 per text (still $0.25 for pics) You cannot simply setup the primary phone.
