If it has to be Beethoven-like and orchestral, then look right and left of the Bonn guy.
Schubert and Brahms symphonies.

I think Brahms would be a good candidate. Also often overlooked are Schubert's symphonies. - I like #9, the "Great" C major. Also the youthful 5th is very charming. I am not a fan of the Schumann ones, they seem to lack the "foreground and background"aspects of Beethoven and Brahms, and the orchestation is a bit boring and unvaried.

To Redeemer: Beethoven Symhonies 1, 2, 4 and 8 should not be dismissed as "nothing special". They are a perfect outgrowth of what came before. The minuet to #1 is really a scherzo, and kind of revolutionary. And I prefer #8 to #6 -- it's tighter.

Try Jean Sibelius (Finlandia is great!)

If you're in a spooky mood, try the stuff that you hear snippets of at Halloween. They're much better in their complete form:

Bach - Toccata & Fugue in D Minor
Saint-Saens - Danse macabre
Mussorgsky - Night On Bald Mountain
Dukas - The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Go anywhere they sell compilation CD's. Root through them for some cheap classical ones. They're usually only portions of the complete work, but you'll probably be able to get a good variety to listen to and find something you like for only a little bit of money.

The late symphonies of Mozart are somewhat Beethoven-like, in that they are powerful pieces of music written in a "grand" manner. His Symphony No. 39, K.543, is a wonderful piece of music.

Beethoven's best symphonies are Nos. 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9. The others aren't that special.

Pick three of the 9 symphonies and you'll find one you think is special. As for the notion that any of them are "nothing special", that is akin to saying that winning $10million in the lottery is nothing special because it wasn't $250million. Even Bill Gates considers that "money".

Proper names are capitalized. Sentence structure is childish. If you have no knowledge of music, where have you been? I think you need to go to school, real, listen to good music and grow up.
