In the 17th-18th Century, neither the Suez or Panama Canal was open. Therefore: From Hong Kong, China to Falmouth, (S. coast of Cornwall, England - a major Port in that century) via the Cape of Good Hope (Cape Town, S Africa, is 12,700 nautical miles. It would have taken between 90 - 105 days. From Hong Kong, China to Falmouth, via Cape Horn (at the tip of S. America) is 16,800 nautical miles. It would have taken them about 105 - 115 days at sea. Both were popular routes - the "east to west" or Cape Town or Cape of Good Hope was the most popular shipping lane & trade route. The Cape Horn was more popular for whaling ships.

I know culturally and morally this seem odd to Chinese people (I'm a Brit in malaysia which has a large Chinese population), but things like the paper money (burned for the dead) (I've seen linda Barker use it for home decor) and the huge packs of incense sticks (used for praying), tang long and those paper lanterns that are lit and sent floating up into the sky, chinese kites, parasols, pyjamas, robes, slippers and all the small bags/purses etc, the paintbrush kits (with block of ink, bowl and stands etc), the decorations with red, knotted threads and bells, wind chimes, crystals and feng shui items...oh and traditional cooking items (woks, chopsticks & placemats, pestle & mortar etc)

These were all interesting to me when visiting Chinese shops. I hope this helps :-)

Quality...

I think they are improving on their products quality... that is one of the thing they do not have at the moment...

U can sell everything... but if U able to' marketing' well your products... should not be a problem... Try to 'spy'
on your competitor's products advantage and disadvantage...

Good luck...
