Hi, I was running a scan a few days ago with Webroot Spy Sweeper, and it said I had a Trojan downloader-aux, and a few cookies, but than when the scan was done, it asked you which items you wanted in the quarantine, so then I selected them and added to the quarantine, than in the quarantine it asked you if you wanted to delete or restore them, but I want to completely remove them, if you deleted them wouldn't it just let the virus' attack your computer by leaving the quaratine, but also if you restore them, it seems the same as to deleting them. And than right after that I ran a scan to see if the virus' were gone and it said it still detected them. Does anybody know how to fully remove them? Thank you.

You might want to simply back up important files, save them to portable memory and re-format.

Also you can try to track all the filepaths and rename some of the files. Might stop the program (trojan) from operating at least.

(Added) Also disabling the internet while the program is being quarintined is probably important.

(Added) I think there is a setting you can initiate to let you know when remote access is being utilized. You might try disabling remote access to prevent future attacks/usage, as well as the respondent below. (ALWAYS UTILIZE GOOD VIRUS SOFTWARE THAT IS UPDATED DAILY)

Go to the store, for about $50 u can buy a good profesional fire wall and virus protector (or download Norton Anti-spy its very good) dont trust those free downloads most of them install trojans themselves, get a good firewall and anti-virus combo, the good ones cost around 40-50 dollars, it will pay off in the long run (trojans and other viruses can wreck ur computer so bad u need to buy new one a $500 expenise)

A good firewall/virus scanner will do u alot of good and remove it premanetly also remeber after u delete items restart ur computer then scan again and also if possible scan with ur internet off, cuts the scan time in half and can stop viruses from being installed while u scan

No, it should remove it from your system by deleting it. Also, you should turn off system restore on windows xp and do another scan. Sometimes the malware will come back through system restore.

To turn off System Restore,

Right Click My Computer, either on your desktop or in the Start Menu

Select the System Restore Tab

Then select and put a check mark in the Turn off System Restore.

After you finish scanning and deleting the trojan, remember to turn System Restore back on so you can restore in the future in case you have problems.
