floppy disks can hold memory thats the only advantage. Otherwise they are larger than flash drives, carry less memory, are easier to break, and newer computers don't accept them any more. Get a cheap 128 or 256 mb flash drive at walgreens for about ten bucks.

Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages:
1) Floppies are cheap and can be used many many times
2)Floppies are easy to transport and handle
Disadvantages:
1)Floppies dont have much storage capacity
2)Floppies can get affected by heat
3)They have to handle more carefully

They are good for storing small files such as documents, but often don't hold up well. Over a period of time, the data can become corrupt and render it useless. In this day and age using a flash drive or burning to a CD is better for archiving and the larger file sizes. Most things now are too large for a floppy, not to mention floppy drives are no longer standard on most new PCs.

Floppy disk became something from the past, you save data on it but in today's applications one point four kb is nothing, you can use it to start up computer to the dos, but you can use start up CD. so you see most new computers are without floppy drive.

There are few advantages to floppy disks in comparison to the many other types of storage. They're magnetic storage, so if you get magnets near them, the information can disappear (scary!). They aren't as sturdy as optical storage or USB drives. Plus, they only hold about a handful of files.

I don't think there are any advantages, get a flash drive. Floppy disks don't hold much.

well, I suppose it's quick to get the info on it. But today, floppy disks are quite antiquated with all the usb flash drives and what not. They had their moments in the sun, but those days are gone.

Disadvantages hard to find computers with floppy drives, holds only 1.3MB's of data and Memory sticks are faster.Need I say more.

Disavantages -
Slow.
Crap capacity.
They break easily.
