I would say lung disease , I have it and so many get it that it's one of the top killers we suffer from . I have a longtime friend who also has lupus .

omg the common cold. definitely.
sure a lot of people would pick a major disease like cancer or aids
but they can be the one who cures those
have you ever really thought about it?
there really is no cure for the cold, just medicines to help lessen the symptoms and boost your own immune system, but in the end, its your body that kills the cold. Not the medicine. I'd like to come up with a cure than instantly relieves a person of a cold. Sure I might not be as famous, but that'd be ok. I'd just like that knowledge that I was the one who got rid of one of the most annoying things on this earth

I'd pick to cure the best "root" disease, that is, one that would allow me to cure the most diseases from discovering how to cure the first one - like a chain reaction because the research was related. Or, if possible, find something that fixes everything like an overhaul of the immune and nervous system. It's sad, actually, we could prevent a lot of things on our own (eg. heart disease, type II diabetes, certain types of cancer). This is a good question but it makes me sad that I can't actually cure anything.

I totally understand how you feel. We are all very likely to choose the disease that hits home and hits the hardest.
And I would like to cure cancer. I have lost so many friends and family members to some form of cancer.. and I'm sure that I can "look forward to" being afflicted by it when I am older....

Well even though I feel like saying Fibromyalgia because I have it I would have to say cancer cause cancer kills far too many people in this world and causes a great deal of suffering not just for the people who have it but their family as well.
Yes, it completely drains you.

My heart goes out to you. I think I would choose lupus as well since my daughter has it.

Hydrocephalus and Arnold Kiari brain malformation
my aunt has both -- one caused the other... and there isnt a cure.. only a treatment (brain surgery that takes out part of the skull and replace it with heart muscle)

Cancer. I started to say HIV/AIDS, yet cancer strikes and kills millions more than AIDS. HIV can usually always be prevented with caution - cancer seems to pop up in, practically every family these days. It's hard to pick just one. Yet, I think cancer is the no# 1 killer. I may be wrong it might be heart disease, yet if we eat right and quit smoking I think that would lower tremendously.

probaly some disease that kills lot of kids. i would say cancer or aids but most of the time it is those people's times to die any ways. i know this will piss a lot of you off but people have to die of something. better to cure something that will help a kid to live longer than to cure someone of some disease that was meant to kill them off anyways.

Arthritis, because I have that. But, I think I would cure cancer if I had the power to do that.
