I know a lot of people are against it
but i mean, beer is legal and has caused tragedies for thousands of families.
marijuana can be good for you, there are no recorded deaths related to marijuana, and doesn't cause violence like alcohol.

It's not like politicians think alcohol is a good thing either, but they need to give society some sort of freedom, whilst making profit off it.
In a politically correct world, there would be no alcohol or tobacco, but if these things were banned, organized crime would peak, just as it did in the U.S when alcohol was prohibited.
So rather than saying why not allow this, if this is going on, they are aiming to stop both licit and illicit drugs. This is done through anti-alcohol/smoking campaigns, laws surrounding licit drugs (drink driving, public intoxication, etc.) and hefty taxes that come with the drug.
But as we all know, they can't force people to stop using a drug. So either way it will still happen.
Personally I don't have anything against the occasional joint with friends, but then again, I don't want drug addicts hanging around the front of my place.

I don't think cannabis is the worst drug out there, but i do believe the certain strains of cannabis along with the smoking culture can be dangerous.
For instance, a major difference I've noticed is between younger and older smokers.
The younger smokers from my observations mainly smoke very potent skunk cannabis and their culture is to smoke large amounts of it, too prove they are the man. What they put in 1 joint, is enough for at least 3 joints to the more mature smoker.
Basically, i believe older people smoke to relax and are more sensible and younger people are still expermenting and smoke to get high.

First you ask then you make exceptions. All I will say about the subject and am sure lots will disagree, but it can kill you and has already done that. Take your chances if you have to. It's up to you what you do. So what do you think about "is it such a bad thing"? That's up to you. You're on your own on this one.

Smoking cannibas will add lots of gunk to your lungs. Putting some in brownies and having a couple along with hot tea or coffee is very relaxing.
People have been smoking it for years, and eating it too.
We haven't touched any for about 15 years and are finding other ways to relax.
I don't like to do illegal behaviour I guess is the main reason we Quit.

You are right-marijuana does not cause violence, but it DOES cause STUPID. Most people I knew in high school that smoked weed and still do haven't changed a bit. Marijuana is like a little time machine-twenty years later you remain at the same socio-economic level that you were when you first began to smoke it.

Alcohol is a depressant. It burns off within hours of consumption.
THC is a hallucinogen. It remains in your system for up to 11 days.
Small amounts of alcohol show benefits to many people.
Small amounts of weed are only useful to ease nausea in chemo patients and increase appetite for AIDS patients.
This is your brain on Drugs. Remember the fried egg in that commercial. Maybe your too young.
We did all kinds of fun stuff, now we know better. So does the AMA.
When you grow up you will change your mind too.

No -- do some fact checking mister. The active ingredient THC is stored in fatty tissues in your body because it is not water soluble and also in you brain cells which remain there for months and months. It also builds up in the brain tissue.

It is a terrible thing because the ASSHOLE politicans
made it illegal......there is nothing wrong with pot, when it
is used in a responsible manner, no different than anything
else. Anything, if used responsibly, is fine...ANYTHING
used irresponsibly is bad..

cannabis isn't bad for you... the possible things that some people do FOR cannabis is what makes it illegal. Isn't it ridiculous?

its illigal because politicians are scared that the selected minority will abuse it.
