I want to run for mayor but don't know how . I want to go to the bad parts of town where the Democrats live and try to make them happy . But what should I do in the normal people areas where the people work for a living ?

Is it possible to run for mayor with only $80,000 dollars ?

First you have to get on the ballot. Laws are different in every State so make sure to check your State and City laws. Most places you have to get so many signatures of regierested voters on a petition and pay a small fee to get on the ballot.

Next, for the campaign, you want to introduce yourself to the voters. Knock the doors of as many super voters (people who vote in primaries) as possible. Yard signs are always cheap to put out and there is radio and TV ads to help raise your name ID.

In any election, the key to remember is, you only your mother's vote plus 50% to win. So if your mother would vote for you, you only need half the voters behind you. Don't talk out three sides of your mouth to try and appeal to everybody. Have some postisons and convictions.

As for 80,000 budget, it depends on what the size of the town is and how competitive the election is. It may be way too much or may be far too little or it might be just right. Without more of details, that's hard to answer.
