According to the Harry Potter Lexicon, love may be what is behind the locked door. A bit hard to believe as it doesn't really make sense that anyone would want to lock away something like that. However, Dumbledore says that Harry's mother's love for him is what saved him from Voldemort's killing curse and gave Harry his greastest weapon against him. So maybe the ministry locked away studies on love so as to keep them out of the hands of someone like Voldemort who might want to find a means to counter such ancient magic.

The room contains love. I think this is where the climatic battle of the series will take place.
How many times must I write that Harry is NOT A HORCRUX PEOPLE!?!?!?!? Seriously, if Harry has to kill himself because he is that last Horcux, that would still mean that one piece of Voldemort's soul remains, and that would be ol' Voldy himself. The prophecy cleary states that "one cannot live while the other survives". That means if Harry kills himself, what's the point in killing Voldy? The prophecy would have already been fufilled. Secondly, we all know Voldemort will die because if he didn't, that just leaves too many strings untied in the series.

I think Dumbledore said at either the end of book five or start of book six that the room was filled with the most powerful magic - LOVE

I know what it is for sure. Someone in book 5 said it held a power stronger and sweeter than death: love. In this room i think harry will finally vanquish voldemort who will destroy himself in the thing he has never felt and the power of whim he underestimates: love. By the way I think that the deathly hallows is the veal that connects the dead to the earth and harry will have to go through it like many heroes like aeneas and aragorn
to answer your question it is a room encompassed entirely with the feweling of love. Just look at the clues sweeter than anything and stronger than death. Even after life love remains and it is the sweetest thing on this planet.
by the way guy who answered directly after me thanks for the correction.

Have to respond to previous person on the horocruxes. The scar is not a horocrux. We know the six horocruxes -- the Riddle diary, one object from each of the four founders, and Nagini.
