I have Vista Home Premium O/S. Do I need to install Norton antivirus or similar product to safeguard my PC?

I would install an antivirus program onto a vista computer.But i would not install any of Norton's programs.there is lot free antivirus program out there.I have heard that Norton's will block some programs that you already use.So i would do some asking around before i buy and install a antivirus program.
avg is one of the good ones.And from what i read that is vista ready.
Also i think that Norton's has become bloated and wants to block everything.I know that for a fact also.So do your homework before you go and buy!

Yes, you are going to need anti-virus software, even for vista. I'm almost certain that you can use AVG on vista and thats free.

you're probably going to need some anti spyware software also. Microsoft has a pretty good one called Windows Defender. It's also free.

Now the firewall is just fine on Vista, unlike XP's crappy firewall, so you should be alright with that.
