x = 80

((x)/(5)) - 4 = ((x)/(4)) - 8
((x)/(5)) - ((x)/(4)) = - 4 '''(sub ((x)/(4)) and add 4 both sides)
4x - 5x = -80 '''(mult by 20 both sides)
-x = - 80 '''(combine like terms)
x = 80 '''( divide by -1)

The first rule is always to get rid of those pesky fractions.
So try mutliplying by 20.
((x)/(5))-4=((x)/(4))-8
so
4x - 80 = 5x - 160
so
80=x
so
x=80
.
