Spiders live on fear. Fear of insects and fear of humans who were insects in a past life. If you stop being afraid the spider will have no nourishment and die, so you must stay afraid to keep the little critter going!

I'm sure he's getting food of some sort in his web, or maybe it's his holiday/vacation home & he just likes your study ??!!

I feel guilty on a regular basis because when I park my car outside our front door, more often than not, some productive spider has spun a web from the railings on the steps to the mirrors on the car overnight & every day when we leave I feel like I am wrecking their new home - I'm totally scared of spiders too but still feel bad .... ??? !!!!!

At least you aren't scared to death of him as were many people last week. Possibly, the spider has spun a web and can catch insects which are consumed while you aren't watching.

Spiders don't go after left over foods. They are looking for other insects. They also may eat dust mites which are all over!
