They are trying to establish dominance. Everyone knows the king of the rabbit world has a sweet job. Comes around once a year with chocolate and eggs. Second only to Santa. In fact I think they share a duplex up North somewhere.
Wouldn't you fight to get that gig?

Because they are territorial and they are trying to establish dominance. This is much more likely if they aren't spayed/neutered.
Please separate them and read up on bonding rabbits if you want spayed/neutered rabbits to be able to live with each other. The are very social animals but they have to be introduced slowly.

rabbits are territoral. if you put 2 males together they each will try to breed the other one at first not recognizing him as a male the ohter male immediately starts fighting and they both try to bite off the other ones balls. sometimes you can keep 2 females together if you put them in a new pen at the same time . when breeding , if you put the buck in the does pen usually she will let him breed, but being territorial she will sometimes attack him and go for his balls. if you put the doe in his pen he will always welcome her. i found this out the hard way as i put my buck in with does at first and everything was ok but on the 3rd doe she started to fight and bit off one of his balls befor i got them apart.
