Finally, a "good" question!
I love my horrors but I'm into older classic slashers, like Halloween, Happy Birthday To Me, and My Bloody Valentine.
The newer movies, with very few exceptions, just suck!

It depends, do you care about it having a good plot or do you just want to **** your pants?

Plotwise: 1408, Hills Have Eyes, and The Ring

**** In You Pants: The Grudge, The Descent, and Halloween

Plotwise, the first three listed are scary, but also have good storylines. But if you just wanna get so scared you have to turn the DVD off a few seconds to contain yourself (like I did during The Descent - went caving two weeks later) I'd reccommand the bottom three, even if I only suggest watching them once. After that they get lame cause after the fear is gone all your left with is a crappy plot.

It wasn't really horror more of a thriller but The Others. It had a very confusing plot but was still really good!
