How do illegal immigrants get social security numbers in california and western states? I mean do they just go somewhere pay some money and bam they have a social security number, i've seen it on the news but i dont know how it's done. just wondering i guess.

They don't, legally.
People can always buy fake IDs -- that's been going on for centuries. But they cannot get a legal SSN unless they have the legal authority to work, which requires a visa.

i am illegal immigrant ; when you don't have choice you need to. its illegal i know and that sucks. but sucks more not to have a job .. just imagine yourself been on this situation. when its not really your fault. because i was brought here when i was little. what do i do, wait there until something happens or what, or should i go back to my country where i don't know anyone, i would probably would be even more lost. And been literally the same as anyone else and even got a good carrier even though the downs for the situation. its just harder for some people.
when you are told you are in the best 5% in the schoolar districs. and you get a few schoolarships for been such a good person and focus. and find out later on you can't get none of that because you don't have papers.. now that sucks.

You have pretty much nailed the answer on the head. That is exactly how it works. It's like buying a fake I.D. (about $50 to $75 on any California street corner.
Wanna buy an unregistered and untraceable fire arm? Just ask the right home boy and he'll hook you up for a fair price (fair is a relative term).

they get social numbers ilegally by buying fake ss cards stealing idenities my son has had his social security # stolen two times they find ways to copy, steal, and do every underhanded thing to get a card. i wish mexico would get it's act together and take care of it's people i think mexico and almost all of south america should hang their heads in shame but not likely the united states doesn't get hard enough with them talk about enmeys theres a big movment in south america for communison and we have all of theses people jumping our border i bet you mexico wouldn't stand for our poor and desolate to jump their borders and invade their country you better beleive they would be yelling u.s citizens get out!
